A unique living, working and educational program for young men ages 13-18 providing opportunities for personal growth, maturity and reformation.

Location:
J Bar J sits at the base of the Cascade Range in beautiful Central Oregon.  This 40 acre Ranch provides quality residential treatment in Oregon’s High Desert, famous for unlimited sports and recreational opportunities.

Target Population:
Young men ages 13-18 who display risk factors for anti-social behaviors.  We target the attitudes, values, beliefs and negative personality factors that impede self-efficacy and success.  Quality educational programs are an integral part of placement.

Program:
J Bar J is a denoted “Best Practices” Program which has utilized “evidence based” practices for 15 years and was a pioneer in the Cognitive Behavioral Treatment approach in Oregon.  Our ABCR (Accountability Based Cognitive Restructuring) Program teaches a simple truth, “freedom and responsibility go hand and hand”.

We teach students how to understand the origins of their self-defeating behaviors and provide mechanisms and structure to help them view the world and their place in it rationally.  We help extinguish negative behavioral patterns and replace them with responsible behaviors which enhance self-efficacy.

J Bar J Learning Center:
A Registered Alternative Education Program.  Our school has the flexibility and student to teacher ratio to provide for a wide range of abilities and aspirations.
