24-HOUR TEEN CRISIS HOTLINE
CYFC provides 24-hour crisis intervention through a toll free hotline:
(800)
660-0934.
This service allows access to CYFC staff for assistance, problem solving
and support, ensuring that at-risk youth are receiving their basic needs.
CRISIS
INTERVENTION
"Intervention Specialists" are available around the clock
to problem solve, help youth and families realize their options, and
mediate conflict situations.
BASIC CENTER SERVICES
Runaway, homeless, and throwaway youth are provided with safe, caring
host homes certified through CYFC, while family mediation and resolution
services occur.
Family
Mediation and Resolution
helps struggling families establish
behavioral contracts, appropriate home structure and boundaries.
CYFC
also acts as an advocate to help youth and their families access needed
services.
Ongoing individual case management is considered the most significant
service provided in coordinating resources for the redirection and
positive guidance of a troubled youth. CYFC youth development professionals
provide positive role modeling, concerned mentoring, and access to
a network of local and statewide information and services.
STREET
OUTREACH SERVICES
In 2002, CYFC began providing Street Outreach Services in
Deschutes County. Street Outreach workers move through community
locations, interacting with young people who are "hanging out" in public
places. They provide mentoring, food, clothing and hygiene
resources, as well as situational assessment and connection to community
services. We offer available times and facilities for showering,
laundry and job search assistance.
TRANSITIONAL LIVING SERVICES
In 2003, CYFC
implemented a Transitional Living Program, Living Options for Teens
(The LOFT), a maximum 18-month residency in a
structured life-skills modeling environment for 10-12 youth between the
ages of 16 - 21. Each youth receives intensive case management
services and a goal oriented transitional living plan, designed to
develop strong life and interpersonal skills. The two primary
goals of the transitional living plan are Educational Completion
and Vocational Training and Placement. The overall goal for
each client is successful transition into independent, self-sufficient
living.
