Medics for OHDC

Medical Support Needed for Horse Show July 19 – July 30

J Bar J Youth Services is a private non-profit organization facilitating positive change in youth. Our programs provide support & resources for local at-risk youth, teens, young adults & families in the Central Oregon region. Each year in July, J Bar J holds The Oregon High Desert Classic (OHDC) horse show. The 40-acre Ranch east of Bend is transformed into an exciting English Style Hunter Jumper event. Junior to Olympic level riders guide horses over colorful jumps on beautiful green fields with mountain views. Now in it’s 34th year, The Classics is the primary fundraiser for the programs for at-risk youth in Central Oregon.

J Bar J Youth Services is looking for a few great medical personnel to support the OHDC horse show by providing first aid and stabilizing riders until emergency personnel arrive on grounds. Medical personnel must be currently certified or licensed in their profession. First Responders, Paramedics, EMT’s, Physicians or Nurses trained in pre-hospital trauma care are needed for this role.

Each shift will consist of 2 medical personnel. They will have a golf cart to travel efficiently around the grounds when needed, a 10×10 Medic tent – with walls for shade and supplies for injuries, and a radio to receive calls in order to respond when needed .J Bar J Youth Services pays $ 24/hour and provides lunch daily.

Show dates are; Week one, July 19–23 week one and Week two; July 26-30, 2023. Shifts begin at 7:00 AM and will conclude between 4:00 to 6:00 PM, depending on the day’s events schedule. The show exciting and fun to spectate!
