Position: Training Coordinator
Department: Administration
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer; Chief Operating Officer
Position Summary:
The Training Coordinator is an integral part of the program support team. This staff member will work with all departments of J Bar J Youth Services (JBJYS) to identify training needs and develop programs to assist in providing the resources to meet the identified needs. Assists and partners with HR/Administration to ensure accurate tracking and compliance with 40 hour trainings and other trainings required by our regulatory agencies. Works to offer internal and external opportunities intended to promote personal growth and enhance staff proficiency and competency in delivering on our mission and values.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (includes the following though other duties may be assigned)
Training
· Implementation and tracking of trainings for 40-hour new hire trainings.
· Identifies training and educational needs in the organization in a close cooperation with the department managers and leadership team.
· Develops and organizes training materials and training offerings for on-line and/or in person for employees and managers utilizing employee portal
· Optimizes the training portfolio and specialized targeted courses for managers and employees
· Manages and monitors the assigned training budget
· Identifies and coordinates external training vendors to deliver tailored training programs and courses; oversees the quality of delivered training sessions by external vendors
· Builds a network of internal trainers
· Establishes and monitors best practice of training in the organization
· Evaluates the quality of training courses and implements improvements
· Tracking and related data entry related to training for all J Bar J Youth Services employees through ADP and other systems

· Researches information about best practices and identifies appropriate policies and practices for J Bar J Youth Services.
· Develop systems to track participation and impact of training
· Analyze existing programming and develop new programming within the financial limits, staffing limits, and facility limits of J Bar J Youth Services
· Responsible for training reporting
· Responsible for identifying, researching and making recommendations for organization’s programs
· Checks voicemail and e-mail, responding within 24 business hours

Minimum Qualifications
(Qualifications applicant must possess in order to be considered for the position; possible exception if an applicant possesses appropriate substitute qualifications)
· BA or equivalent experience in the field of social work or human services
· Two (2) years of direct service experience with special need populations, advocacy for low-income populations, experience working with and an understanding of culturally diverse groups
· Oregon Food Handler’s Card (must be obtained prior to first day of employment)
· Ability to exercise sound, independent judgment, to maintain a high level of confidentiality, to respond effectively to emergency and crisis situations and resolve problems
· Dependability and flexibility
· Ability to write clearly and concisely and to communicate effectively in writing
· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally
· Analytical capability, ability to work effectively with data and identify trends, draw on history and recognize what has worked and what has not
· Valid Oregon driver’s license required
